IS THERE A TV TUNER FOR A LAPTOP THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE CONNECTING UP TO LOCAL CABLE?
I have a windows vista laptop and I want to be able to watch tv on it without necessarily being connected to long wires and cables from the tv. I want to be able to be mobile and watch tv wherever I want.; Also, I want to be able to have world wide web access also; is there a card for this?

well for the internet access yes, there are wireless network cards… as far as the tv capture they do infact have these available but this is extremely cutting edge stuff… not readily available for the market yet.

for wireless internet, you need a wireless broadband modem, or to connect a mobile phone to your laptop
for tv, you need a tv card in your laptop (or USB tv tuner) and an aerial to recieve the signa, but make sure it’s digital tv otherwise you’ll need a very large antenna
and wireless cards are very available. i bought a digital one from ebay for less than $50 AUD about 3 months ago
and the first answer was also wrong, as wireless network cards only allow you to have wireless internet 30m (max) from your wireless router. (which may be all the mobility you want)
there are plenty of wireless boradband plans available, but tehy are very bad value compared to normal broadband however you can connect to the internet almost anywhere.
