I need to connect my laptop to my Television to watch Netflix on my TV. I have an S-video port on my laptop, but I do not think I have the right port on my TV. I have heard about an adaptor, but I do not know specifically what it is.

laptops can have any number of ports on them that you can use to connect to your tv. best to look in your manual for: yellow video component, s-video, dvi, hdmi, audio (like headphone output).
it also depends on what connectors your tv has, the new flash lcd/plasmas are normally quite simple to connect to from a laptop/pc while the older tv’s are a bit harder.
HDMI is the best, has audio and video, for full HD tv’s, expensive
DVI video connector & heaphone to component audio next best (newer tv’s)
analgue video connector & headphone to component audio (newer tv’s)
s-video & headphone to component audio (older tv’s)
yellow video component & headphone to component audio (older tv’s)
your local electronics store will have numerous adaptors and connectors, so jsut take a note of what outputs your laptop has, what your tv will accept and find the appropriate adaptors
