Review: The new VIP-922 incorporates the Sling player that replaces the TV2 output that the 722 and 622 had in the past. In order use the Sling player you have to log into your account at DishNetwork and view the Slinged content through Dish’s website. That makes the service very slow and to top that if you want to sling the player to other members in your house you have to provide your account password. The 922 is still pretty buggy with missed recordings, Lockups.
The new menu is pretty nice but if you are buying this player for the Sling then you will be pretty disappointed in how it works.
TV2 output on the 722 and 622 allowed a second TV to access content from the receiver but the 922 has replaced this with the Sling. Save your money and stay with the 722 or 622.

Review: just got the vip 922 dvr with sling box only had it for days so far really like it don,t plan on useing the sling box .will not work with second tv but does have video an sound L an R out tv 2 if that helps .i lease the dvr instend of buying . dish charged me 295.00 to up grade and install it but once the shock went away it was well worth it . on screen guides look good the channels use there logos to find the channels . the search and browse are really helpful to find what you what to watch .setting up timers are easy to set up does not have dish pass just new and reruns or new hd channels look even better then 722 dvr i upgraded from . when you go to see what is going to be recorded it shows number of program to record and any conflicts for the next 2 days so you could fix the conflicts which i thought was great like the folder to keep my favrite shows in easy to find them . only had the dvr short time will tell if i have any problem with it. only got it for 1tb hard drive it little pricy to get could not wait for price to drop . this is really nice dvr would go for it if you what a bigger hard drive love the on screen menu has alote of extras then the 722 does more then the 722 dvr give it 5 stars don,t know about the sling box .
