Does anybody knows what is exactly different between digital calbe TV and IPTV?
I comprehend IPTV is run by telcos, while digital CATV is operated by cable companies. But other than that, they seem to be pretty much similar.

You are right, they are very similar. IPTV, or World wide web Protocol Television, requires an world wide web connection(usually broadband). CATV requires a cable connection. The main difference is the providers and method of delivery of service. IPTV is delivered through technologies used for personal networks. CATV is delivered through traditional cabling.
